Honda 7-seater SUV in the works!


The 7-seater market has seen a big boom in the last few years. In this too, we see 7-seater SUV making a big splash. Almost all major manufacturers have a 7-seater in their lineup, barring Honda. This could soon change as Honda is working on a 7-seater SUV. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Honda 7-seater SUV. 

7-seater?

Honda’s mid-size model would be based on Honda’s electric architecture. According to reports, Honda is looking to add a third row in it upcoming mid-size SUV. This will help Honda to target six-seater and seven-seater buyers. This would be quite a proactive move from the Japanese manufacturer to provide so many options at the same time.  

Honda 7 seater SUV – Specifications

This mid-size SUV is expected to share its engine options with the Honda City and will also have a battery pack for it’s hybrid version. So for the ICE model we could see the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol. However, the 1.5-litre diesel engine won’t be used due to the upcoming emissions norms. To fill in for this, Honda could add a hybrid option to this mid-size SUV. Transmission will include manual and automatic options. Will it also be an fully electric 7 seater? Let’s wait and find out.

Features

Features have become a vital point in the car buying decision for most people. Honda will have to load its new SUV with features. Some features we can expect are a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, digital instrument cluster and more. Honda should also give it the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) considering the recent trend.

Honda has plans to launch two new SUVs in the next two years. First, it will launch the compact SUV, the WRV in 2023, considering the popularity of this segment. After that, we could see Honda bringing this mid-size SUV and it’s 7 seater version. So we could expect Honda’s mid-size SUV in 2024. What about the pricing? Honda’s mid-size SUV could start from somewhere around Rs 15 lakhs (ex-showroom).
