Tata Motors is working on the facelifted version of the Nexon compact SUV. The test mule of the upcoming car was recently spied under test on Indian roads. As seen in the images, the Nexon facelift will come with a few exterior tweaks to make it feature-rich and modern in its appearance.

The overall silhouette of the test mule of the Tata Nexon facelift looks the same as that of the current model. However, the changes are in the details. The new model will supposedly get a tweaked front fascia, which is expected to derive some highlights from the Tata Curvv and Harrier electric concepts showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Expect to see a new design for the headlamps and daytime running LEDs at the front.

The side profile of the Tata Nexon facelift appears to be the same as before, though the test mule was seen with a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels. The outside rearview mirrors are seen with cameras integrated within them, indicating that the new model will be launched with a 360-degree parking camera. At the rear, the Nexon facelift might get a refreshed design for the tail lamps, along with an LED connecting light bar between the tail lamps, much like in the Hyundai Venue facelift.
While the interior of the Tata Nexon facelift is not visible in the spy pictures of the test mule that surfaced on the internet, expect to witness some key changes in the cabin too. The new version of the Nexon might get a revised fully-digital layout for the instrument console, a new steering wheel and the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system recently introduced in the Harrier and Safari. The Nexon facelift might also arrive with ADAS, making it the first sub-four metre compact SUV in India to get this feature.
Expect to see a new petrol engine
Expect to see a big change under the hood for the Tata Nexon facelift, as it might get a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Compared to the current 1.2-litre petrol engine, which claims 118 bhp and 170 Nm, the new engine is capable of producing 123 bhp and 225 Nm. However, the 1.5-litre diesel engine will be retained in the Nexon facelift in the same setup, which claims 113 bhp and 260 Nm.
The Tata Nexon is already one of the best-selling compact SUVs in India, and with this update, Tata Motors is expecting a higher sales performance from it. The new Tata Nexon will continue to compete with models like Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
