YouTuber shows how capable the Citroen C3 hatchback is off the road [Video]

Last year, French car manufacturer Citroen launched its first-ever hatchback made in India, the C3, in the market. The hatchback, with SUV looks, competes with cars like Tata Punch in the segment. Since its launch, Citroen has managed to sell over 7,000 units of the C3 hatchback in the market. Six months after the launch of the C3 hatchback, the French manufacturer even launched the electric version of the same hatchback. Apart from the review and walkaround videos, there haven’t been many videos of the C3 on the internet. Here we have a video where a YouTuber took the C3 hatchback to an off-road section to see how it performs.

The video has been shared by Anubhav Chauhan on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger is seen with a Citroen C3 hatchback. The person driving the car is his friend, and they are in search of a track that the Citroen C3 can handle without damaging any of its parts. They first drive onto a mud track. Initially, the track looked promising, but as they went deeper, the terrain became difficult, and there were cracks on the track that the front-wheel-drive hatchback couldn’t cross.

They turned around and started looking for a new track. They finally came to a hill with a gravel-filled track. The climb was quite steep, and the vlogger has driven to the top of this hill with several SUVs before. He asks his friend to start driving the car forward. The hatchback slowly starts moving, and the vlogger starts running in front of the car. He even gets injured at one point after he fell down and grazed his knee. The vlogger stood up and asked his friend to continue.

Citroen C3 off-roading

The Citroen C3 hatchback seen here was performing well. The extra ground clearance and the rough-looking claddings around the wheel arches and around the car were helping it. Just like any front-wheel-drive SUV or hatchback, the Citroen C3 was also losing traction in many places. The driver had to stop at many places, drive back a little, and then attempt the climb again with momentum. We have said it many times that 2WD vehicles are not meant to be driven off-road. If you are doing such activities, then it is always a good idea to get a backup vehicle.

While climbing up a steep section, it is always a good idea to carry momentum. In this case, the driver was afraid that the underbody of the C3 would rub against the rock in the track. The vlogger was carefully giving him directions to ensure that he did not drive over any sharp rocks or hit the underbody. The driver can be heard saying in the video that it has enough power to climb a steep section, but the person behind the steering wheel might always worry about hitting the underbody. The Citroen C3 is available with two petrol engine options. There is a 1.2-litre NA petrol and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine on offer. The car seen here is the turbo petrol variant that generates 110 PS and 19 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and Citroen does not offer any automatic variant.
